It seems that Prince Williams has learned over the years how to keep his private events secret: Neither his Engagement nor his Stag Night were revealed until after they happened: The Palace confirmed, that there was a “a low-key party at a rural retreat at the weekend”, but further details weren’t given. If you weren’t sure what to give to a future king, who probably has everything – there is some relief: Prince William and Kate Middleton have set up the Prince William and Miss Catherine Middleton Charitable Gift Fund, asking well-wishers to donate money instead of gifts. Who will receive one of the 5000 invites to the wedding?

Since Prince William and Kate Middleton announced they were getting married this spring, a host of celebs have been begging for an invite to the wedding. P Diddy, JLS and Nicole Scherzinger have expressed their desire to attend the celebration. Peter Andre and Serbian Crown Prince Alexander II even claim they already are on the list. The Sun reports that the guest list will be 5.000 Names long, and will include 2.000 close friends and 3.000 politicians, public figures and foreign dignitaries, who are selected by the Lord Chamberlain’s Office. “The Prince of Wales is delighted to announce the engagement of Prince William to Miss Catherine Middleton.” With this official press release, Clarence House announced today that Prince William, second in line to the throne, will marry Kate Middelton in 2011, the year that would have been the 30th anniversary of his parents’ wedding. Kate Middleton’s parents get invited to the Queen’s Scottish estate

Michael and Carol Middleton, the parents of Kate Middleton, spent the weekend at Balmoral, Prince Charles’s private residence on the Queen’s Scottish estate. The invitation fuels speculation that the younger couple are poised to announce their engagement after an eight year courtship. An insider commented “This is the Middletons being taught to be able to join the royals at play.” The couple were invited as part of a “country pursuits” house party which Prince William hosts about once a yearin the familys retreat. Ten years ago Prince William and Kate Middleton have first met at St Andrews University in Scotland. While many of Kates friends are now married and starting their families, she isn’t even engaged.
